Chapter 7 by KingOfBohemian KingOfBohemian

Maybe talking to Katie would make Oliver feel better?

Maybe

After class, school was over; it was the end of the day and after the kind of shit that Oliver had endured during that last hour, he wanted nothing more than to see his best friend and talk to her about it. Once school was out Oliver and Katie had a ritual of meeting at the front sign of the school. He went there and waited till a good fifteen minutes passed. It was strange that Katie hadn't shown up yet. Oliver began to worry that maybe she went home sick and couldn't meet him in their usual spot, that was, until he saw Katie walk out the front doors with someone he didn't know. The boy she was with was definitely not her style. He was wearing a football jersey and was a total douche looking tool that Katie usually made fun of rather than hang out with.

She was laughing and hanging onto the guys arm like they were together, it almost made Oliver sick. But he pushed the bile trying to worm its way out of his stomach down and approached them.

"Hey! Katie? I thought we were meeting up today...?" Oliver had said while raising a hand in a slight wave.

Katie just shifted kind of awkwardly and the football player just squared up his chest and stayed silent, "Yeah..." Katie started off, "I made some new plans, sorry but I'm not really interested in hanging out with you at the moment. Not after what you did."

"What?" Oliver stood there bewildered with his mouth agape, he was at a loss for words. "What...what did I do?" He just asked while his voice got quieter barely down to a whisper.

"You know what you did." Katie just snapped out harshly and let go of the other guys arm. She shoved her way past Oliver and went out to the path leading to the parking lot.

Katie was gone but Oliver was still standing in the same spot that she had left him. What had just happened? First with the yearbook, and now his best friend. What had he done among that? Having no idea, Oliver took his time to get home and once there went straight to his room. Usually he would go on to do his homework, but today he just laid flat on his bed and stared up at the ceiling.
