Mary is amazing...

Jessica creeps to the end of the hall and peeks into the half open door. She is barefoot, wearing the pajamas Olivia laid out for her. What she sees makes her confuses her.

A human female sits in a chair, covered in cuts. Jessica's fangs elongate involuntarily at the smell of blood. Mary is bent over the girl. Is she feeding? Was everything she told me a lie? Jessica wonders, anger flashing in her eyes. When Mary turns around, Jessica sees that she isn't feeding, she is tending to the girl's wounds.

"Don't just stand there, Jessica" Mary says matter of factly.

"You must be wondering who this is. I saved think girl tonight from Elizabeth's children, Miko and Jade. Those twisted animals were torturing her, drinking from dozens of small wounds. I had been tracking their hunt and finally found them and this poor girl in a garage. I fought them off and spirited her away. Her only crime, like yours, was crossing paths with Elizabeth and her brood" Mary explains as she swabs a cotton swab inside her mouth, collecting saliva to apply to the girl's wounds. "I'll fix her up, wipe her memory, and send her home" Mary says.

Olivia walks in, bringing Jessica a mug of warm (bagged) blood. Jessica wants to rip into the human on the chair, and sipping from the mug definitely helps.

"Isn't there something we can do? Elizabeth has dozens of human slaves right now in her basement!" Jessica says.

"Yes, dear. I have a plan to free them. But I'll need your help" Mary says cryptically.
