Looking it over, there are no signs of any megastructures, though that is to be expected this far out from the galactic core or even arms. Having to wait until I can use short range scans I sit in my chair as the star in front of me slowly gets bigger.

—More Time Passes—

Sending out a short range scan, I pick up three planets. One is in the habitable zone, and one is a gas giant with several moons. Setting a course for the greener of the planets, I decide to approach the planet until I receive a hail from them. That way I can estimate how good their comms technology is. Getting a message a few minutes later, I press accept as a man appears on the screen. Having pale skin in comparison to my blue, he seems nervous as he says “Unknown ship, identify yourself and declare your intentions.”
