Mai finds a new game

(This is the story of Mai discovering Hero’s Summit, and joining on its first day.)

Mai, having been **** to move halfway across the world for some experimental learning institute run by her parent's friend, is rather depressed, most of her friends being back home, and although they still talk, it does not feel the same as hanging out with Yuki, Clark and Alyssa in person, laughing, playing some dumb game, plus, being stuck in this dumb institute has made it quite difficult for Mai to indulge in her favorite activity of all.. getting naked, preferably in places she really shouldn't be naked in.

But now today, Mai has been here for almost a month and is losing her mind. While allowed to do pretty much anything they want in their dorm rooms, students at this institute are not allowed to have others over for things other than study sessions. Mai, who heard about this new game coming out in a few weeks while on a walk one day, started saving money from her student job of working in the institute's gym. Finally, she manages to use her saved money, plus a monthly check she receives from her parents back home, to purchase a brand new VR-Pod, pre-loaded with the game launching in two days. "Hero's Summit"

Hearing that there is an empty sandbox world connected to the Pod itself, she decides to give it a try, just so she knows what to do when the game releases... of course. One thing she read and has been extremely curious about, is how accurate the Pod's body scan actually is, so, stripping down, revealing Mai has no underwear on, she lays down in the pod, shivering a bit at the cold cushions surrounding her naked body.

As the Pod closes, Mai quickly finds herself falling asleep, before opening her eyes in what appears to be a massive virtual room, no textures, no sounds, nothing. Looking down, she sees...
