Chapter 4 by Phantompen Phantompen

Into The Forest She Goes, But Does Her Luck Hold Out?

Mackenzie takes a tumble

The clearing and the view it offered were nice, but Mackenzie was interested in seeing what else she could find deeper into the woods. Just as before, the land proved to be wild and treacherous off the beaten path. Tree branches and wild bushes scratched at her arms and legs as she walked, but the redhead did her best to put the discomfort out of her mind.

"It's easy to forget how big this park is." Mackenzie mused to herself as she pushed a tree branch out of her path. "Hopefully I don't get lo-"

Mackenzie's thoughts were cut off as her feet failed to find solid ground. The tree branch she was busy pushing out of her way had also obstructed her vision, making her unaware of the steep drop she'd just stepped into. While it wasn't a cliff face, the angle was steep enough that Mackenzie couldn't do anything to stop herself from falling once she took that fateful step over the edge.

The bumpy ride would have been bad enough on its own, but the untamed wilderness had seen fit to cover the steep hill in wild tangles of bushes and shrubs. Mackenzie felt countless branches scrape against her as she tumbled down the hill, and even a few sharper strikes as she rolled through a bush that had some kind of thorns. Through the cacophony of snapping twigs and sliding debris, Mackenzie could have sworn she heard something tear.

By the time the beautiful redhead came to a stop at the bottom of the hill her entire body ached and she was dazed from the ordeal. It wasn't until a quick inspection of herself that Mackenzie realized the tearing she'd heard had been cloth. More specifically, her clothing.

What happened to Mackenzie's clothes in the fall? Did anything survive?
