Luna catastrophe

You wake up with {l} in your arms and a warm yellow glow coming in through the window.

She stirs and looks into your eyes, smiling. "You're amazing."

You felt your heart do a summersault "You're awesome."

Her grin expanded and she cuddled with you. Snuggling herself further into your embrace.

...

You noticed the yellow glow seemed to be shifting with orange...more than sunlight would do, you would think. "{l}? Something's wrong..."

You got up and she got up with you, you both looked out the window to see an inferno eating up the entire world. A jungle in flames, it went on for miles and miles. Somehow the structure you were in seemed to be standing.

"Oh my God!!" You shouted.

{l} stood still for a whole minute, just staring in silence. "No," she said simply.

She collapsed, figure going limp and crumpling to the floor.

You hugged her on the floor, trying to comfort her to the best of your ability, she kept saying "no" between sobs.

"Luna!!! We've got to get out of here!!!" You try to shout over the deafening crackling.

She shakes her head and points to a lever near the door.

You rush over to it as fast as your feet would carry you she push it with all your might. It shifts over and you see the windows darken.

"What did that do?" You ask.

"It took us back..."

You shake your head, not understanding

"It took us back, Daniel, back in time. My work..the charts..the magic...It's all built around this hit, it's a time machine."

She sniffles.

"That was it, Harxodd, tomorrow. And that was the last of the powder...the fuel for time travel. There's no more now, now we're stuck with only one day, and after that it's all gone. Everything. All the beauty in this entire dimension is dead if we don't do something."

You're shocked.

"We have to blah blah to save the world!"
