Chapter 3 by elmer7780 elmer7780

So monk, what comes your way?

Lots of skeletons.

You sigh, blocking the swing of a sword by its hilt, then promptly kicking a skeleton who attacked you into pieces. Immediately after, you duck, sensing a swing from behind by yet another skeleton. Successfully dodging, you spin around and uppercut the skeleton's head from behind you. Of course, the skeleton keeps moving, so you kick it back, sending the rest of the bones splitting onto the ground.

Hearing the rattling of bones ahead of you, you sigh once more, placing a foot in front of you and twisting your hips slightly back. With one hand to your hips and the other pointing in the direction you hear the skeletons approaching, you give one big grunt.

"Hup!"

Twisting your hips back, you extend your hand that was on your hips forward, transforming the energy you've built up as potential and extending it out to the cavernous air, sending a nice shockwave present to the skeletons ahead before they could even reach you.

You hear the skeletons crumbling...just like the rest.

You sigh again.

If it isn't obvious, you are tired of skeletons. Ever since you've entered the cave, the skeletons started to appear everywhere. It is as if you tripped on some alarm and alerted the undead bones to your presence.

These skeletons also are weak. It's like whoever raised them either didn't strengthen their joints or the likely option, the person who raised them is dead and the magic is starting to fade from these undead creatures.

Two more skeletons appear within the darkness, this time with a hammer and a mace, respectively. There is no need to go into detail how you fight them because they crumble like the rest upon one hit. You aren't even using that much energy!

You are a little curious as to whom these skeletons were when they had flesh and a beating heart. They all carried swords and other weapons which seem almost military, in fact.

Six more skeleton tries to surprise you, but you blow them away like the rest as you move forward.

Damn, this is terrible.

Yes, you know that monks require patience, but this is simply embarrassing. You've fought undead skeletons that were wandering for a hundred years and they were sturdier than these walking bones.

You continued moving blindly in the dark, feeling the cold stone beneath you and keeping a keen sense of your surroundings so that you don't end up falling to a sudden drop of ****.

For at least five minutes, you are surprised to find not a single skeleton or other creature closing in to attack you. You are aware of how much space that surrounded you to know that the cavernous path so far is pretty linear, which means that enemies could only come from behind or in front of you.

The small silence didn't last long though as a bright, white light appears seemingly ten or so meters. At first, you prepared to dodge, but the light never came your way. You could see it glowing in and out, calling to you.

There is only one way, so you had **** but to see what the light is and whether you are approaching something different and dangerous.

What do you find as you approach the white light.
