Look for a better job

As much as the other escapist Tasks sound interesting to you, wasn’t the entire point of getting it to make your life better? Maybe looking for a better job is the best idea then. After all, it just says to look, not that you actually have to get one, right?

You grab your laptop and start checking the usual places. You start with the most popular job searching site you know. There’s a lot here, but it’s all technical jobs you don’t have the degree, qualifications, or experience for. Finally, you do spy something: a server position at some place called ‘Night Bliss’. Interested, you look further, and you’re amazed. It’s only part-time, but with a minimum of 20 hours a week and a payrate several dollars better that what you have now, and the potential for raises, you’re interested right away.

Still, it looks like applying there includes one of those questionnaire forms, the kind that takes an hour to do, so you look elsewhere while keeping that in a tap, just in case. Next place to look is one of those general local sites, where people can advertise for anything. Hell, you’ve heard of people actually using sites like that to hire hitmen. You don’t see any ads like that, but you do see something interesting. Someone is offering an absurd amount of money to clean their home twice a week. You’d be making a lot more than you are now, and with way less work! Hmm, but you need to meet the person for an in-person interview just to apply.

You think you’re fine with just those two, when you see one more ad that catches your eye. It’s not for a job, not really, but some kind of **** test. Apparently, it’s some experimental long-term **** trial, and it pays enough to keep you in the black for a couple of years at least. You look into it, and it’s pretty clearly legit, though the safety warnings make it clear there could be real side-effects to this.

Looking at the three options you found, you pull out your phone and click on your completed Task, since you did Look for a better job. You get a pop-up, right away.

Motivation 3->25

Wow, that is a big stat increase. It makes you want to laugh...but you can almost feel it. You are feeling more motivated! Must be the pseudo effect or whatever. Now, you actually want to look into trying one of these, and you see two new Tasks have appeared: Apply for a job and Participate in a **** trial. You raise your eyebrows at how specific the second one is, but it must be a coincidence or something. The real question is, what you will do?
