Look around

Mai is amazed at the level of detail inside the game, while her own personal space seemed almost real, this was difficult to differentiate from reality itself, unlike the private space, which, while still highly detailed, lacks most senses, the game has recreated smells and tastes, allowing classes like the chef to actually affect the world.

Glancing around, she notices more players appearing every few minutes, as they finish their own character creation, finally, she remembers that ball the woman in the waiting queue was handing out, and looks to see if she can still access it. It takes a second, but she finds it hiding in her inventory, labeled [1st Promotional Gift-Consumable]

Mai: "Consumable... assuming that means I open it and it will go away, not to actually eat it." She looks over the ball before a small prompt appears. [Open Promo Pack? Yes/No]

After considering for a moment, Mai presses yes, then notices the ball beginning to glow, as it lifts out of her hands, then grows and engulfs her.

Suddenly Mai finds herself in a blank, pure white room, with three chests sitting against the far wall. [Please open one chest to receive randomized Promo Gifts]

Mai walks around the chests, examining each to see if one is different at all, but after finding no noticeable differences, just opens the middle chest.

Inside the chest is a small sack of coins, a sword with an eagle crest engraved on the hilt, and...a set of silk underwear.

Mai: "Well money is always good.. this is a cool sword, but underwear?? Is this game trying to promote showing it off or something?"

slightly annoyed, she decides to check the items out fully, finding fifty silver, but doesn't know yet if that is actually a lot or not, the sword belonged to a knight from Senobac apparently, which Mai thinks she remembers seeing as one of the starter areas. And finally, the silk underwear actually provides defense, as well as generally being more comfortable than the standard, slightly scratchy underwear the game starts you with, deciding to equip both the underwear and sword, Mai exits the white bubble of a room, finding herself back in front of the grand temple.
