Look around the jar

Since the jar is illuminated, you look around it to see if you can find a clue from it. Now, you get to see the details of the jar's decorations and you really wish you can't. Ancient Egypt clearly wasn't a safe place, because you can now see the gruesome details of the battles and the tortures inflicted upon the losers. Suddenly, you feel less generous towards Imhotep; even if he did design some of the first pyramids, he was clearly responsible for many other awful things.

One decoration stands out. Rather than showing Imhotep and the Pharaohs' prowess in battle and in peace, it shows the Pharaoh and his vizier standing in front of an open door. Inside it, you can see piles of treasure, probably looted from their wars. Around Imhotep's neck, you notice a small key, probably the one that allows entry to the treasure chambers.

You feel an urge to touch that decoration. Even though you know that there are many booby traps in this tomb, you get the impression that this is not one of them. Hesitantly, you reach out and press a finger to the jar. There is a blinding flash of light. You stagger away from the jar, your hands covering your eyes. You stumble around for a moment before you smash into a wall and fall over. A few seconds later, you vision clears.

You look back at the jar and notice that there is now a golden key resting on top of the lid. Tentatively, you pick it up. It feels warm in your hand, but doesn't do anything untoward. Looking back down at the decoration, you see that the key around Imhotep's neck has vanished. It seems that the vizier has given you a gift.
