Let fate decide

“But, if you guys don’t mind,” Heather began. “I thought we could have a little fun and let fate sort things out.”

“What do you mean?” Victoria asked.

“I thought we could have a draw,” Heather answered, excitedly. “Something like this, we write our names, put them in a bowl and three of us pick up one. The one you draw will be your roommate. What do you guys think?”

“I think it could be fun,” Kurt grinned, making Zack wonder if the idea wasn’t really his to begin with.

“Well, while you guys decide that,” Ashley said, picking up her bags. “Brandon and I will check out our bedroom.”

Brandon smiled in agreement. “Good luck, everyone.”

“I don’t know about that, Heather,” Chloe frowned as the two of them disappeared behind one of the doors. “What if someone draws a person that’d be too much awkward to share a room with?”

Heather grinned. “Well, that’s where the fun lies, Chloe dear.”

While Heather went to get pen, paper and something that could be used as a bowl, Zack realized he had mixed feelings about the whole thing. He could very well get lucky and draw Victoria, but on the other hand, he could draw Kurt and have to put up with him for two miserable weeks. Soon, Heather was back with the required items and lining them up on the dining table. She looked over to the group.

“I wanted to ask before we went ahead with the idea,” she paused. “Is everyone really on board? Chloe made a good point earlier and I don’t want to **** anyone.”

Gavin and Kurt were the first ones to nod at her, then Victoria smiled and gave her approval, followed closely by Zack. Chloe was the last one to agree, and Zack was pretty sure that she had the same reservations as him.
