Learning Magic

The job wanted us to bring back the goblin's ears as proof of the kills, so while Lily rests I go about collecting them from the 15 goblins we killed. The job only required 10, so im hoping that if we bring in more then the reward will be higher. Since that doesn't take very long, and lily still hasn't woken up, I decide to try learning more magic with the help of Chrys, who better to teach me how to do magic other then the person who is literally made of the stuff.
"Magic is fairly simple as long as you have the mana for it and can control it well. I saw you turning it into a ball and firing it at the goblins, which means you got the basics down. Spells are can be different dependent on who is casting it, and what kinds of attributes your Mana has. Your obviously most proficient with Taming Magic, so we will focus on the ones closest to that type. We can try Body Strengthening Magic, Adaptation Magic, and Summoning Magic, with Adaptation magic being the closest to what you already excel at." She explains. I remember that part of my blessing is called Adaptive Taming, which I still haven't figured out yet, so maybe learning this kind of magic will help.
"Since you are a Tamer with a Dragon we will focus on your connection with that dragon to use adaptation magic. Gather up your mana and having it cover your body like a thin layer, once you have that figured out, focus on your connection to your dragon and try to form the mana to be like one of the dragon's body parts. It might take a while to get it down, since its not a easy magic to master, so don't feel discouraged if you fail at it." she says with a smile.
I do as she has instructed, I already used mana to reinforce my legs to run faster, so I am probably already doing that Body Strengthening magic she mentioned without fully understanding it, so encasing my body in magic isnt new to me. I close my eyes and focus on my connection and feel the mana around my body starting to harden. After about a minute I hear Chrys let out a gasp and I open my eyes to see the skin on my arms and chest have become purple scales. I fun my hands over them and they feel a lot like armor, maybe not as hard as steel but the flexibility will make up for that I think. I start to focus again and instead of my whole body I focus the mana on my hands, and within a minute the scales are gone and my right hand has turned into a purple dragon claw.
"Your getting the hang of it quickly, maybe you have a higher proficiency with that kind of magic to." She says with a giggle.
"I have a Blessing for taming magic, and it said something about Adaptive Taming, so I think that is it, I just didn't know how to do it yet."
"Of you really are special then, I knew you had way more mana then the other people I have met, but to have a Blessing linked to a type of magic... Try focusing on our connection when doing the magic." She says, getting more excited.
I do as she says and I feel the Mana naturally going towards my back, and after a few minutes I feel it turning into a set of four wings much like Chrys's. I try to fly off the ground but it seems that either the wings arnt strong enough to lift me, or I haven't gotten good enough at it yet. Maybe Izzy's wings will be able to lift me if I can get good enough at this magic. Chrys explains that forming new limbs entirely will probably take a lot more practice to get perfectly.
"Lets try a attack type of magic now, since you have a grasp on how to manipulate your mana. Your staff has a crystal in it that boosts Plasma magic, meaning Lightning to give you a simple explanation, so we will start with that one. Try to imagine a storm cloud, your mana broiling inside you and focus it out of the tip of your staff, or our of your hand if you would prefer."
I do as she says, but when I start to do it I remember my days in science class and remember how Lightning is actually formed, so instead of imagining a storm cloud I focus on how Lightning itself is formed. After a few minutes of deciding how I want the spell to take shape, I focus the mana at the tip of my staff and point it into the sky since I don't want to hurt anything. The mana at the tip of the staff goes from a Purple color to a bright blue and shoots out as lightning in a 30ft line going upwards before dissipating. I hear Chrys clapping behind me and giggling.
"Your good at this, but it seems Lily is waking up now so we can do more later. You should be fine with what you have for now. I can't teach you anything advanced, so I recommend finding a better teacher at some point, but with what you have now, figuring out the rest of the basic stuff shouldn't be to difficult for you."
I look over to see Lily standing up on shaky legs, so I walk over and help her get steady. As I help her stand a deep blush forms on her cheeks.
"I went and told you I wasn't some slut and here I am having told you to fuck her and got off to watching it happen... what is wrong with me..." she says, looking rather embarrassed and a little sad.
"I'm not going to think less of you, everybody has their kinks. Watching or being Watched in the act isn't a super uncommon one either, and its fairly easy to do without people getting hurt in some way, so you shouldn't feel ashamed of it. Lets get back to town now that our quest is done, we can do a bit of celebrating before we take on our next quest as a Gold Ranked team." I say, trying to reassure her. She nods and we walk back over to where Izzy was laying down and watching me and we start heading back to the town.
