Lantern with oil [4 gold]
You return to the ironmonger's stall and examine the old lantern he's selling. It's beat up, but all of its panes are intact - and it could be useful to have a light source that will be shielded when you're exploring the caves. A little dearer than torches, but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. You pass him the coins and he hands you the lantern and a couple pints of oil in carefully sealed containers.
