Lana discusses their employment with them

No sooner had they made themselves presentable than Lana and Bert returned, followed by Cecilia.

Seeing her sister made Rachel's cheeks turn red as she thought of what she'd just been doing. Thank God they'd finished so soon.

"Rachel," Lana said, summoning her with an abrupt gesture.

Following uncertainly behind the rest Rachel realized she was still in the bikini, while her sister had changed back to her regular clothes. Was that what she was supposed to have been during when Lana and Bert left?

"It's quite apparent to us that the two of you certainly have the bodies for modelling. Whether you have the other prerequisites remains to be seen, though I have some confidence in you," Lana said with a smile, looking at Cecilia.

"We don't want you to be typecast as sister-models as some have; to that end we'll be splitting you up and assigning you separate portfolios."

Cecilia and Rachel eyed each other with a little alarm, but turned back to see what Lana would say next.

"Your looks are similar enough to the other that I believe having you doing similar work would result in a...." Lana grimaced, trying to find the right word.

"Glut," Bert supplied, and Lana nodded.

"Thank you Bert. Yes, would glut the market, oversaturating the magazines with your images."

Rachel and Cecilia nodded like they understood perfectly and agreed.

"As a result I've decided to assign you portions of the market, and various specific assignments, that I believe suit your personalities. Cecilia, you'll be handling the classy shoots as well as any catalog modelling that might come up, or anything else that requires sophistication."

Cecilia almost bounced in joy, barely stopping herself from clapping under Lana's benevolent smile. Lana's laser-like eyes fastened on Rachel, and she could have sworn the smile had become a smirk. "The... other assignments will be given to Rachel."

Rachel blinked, smiling uncertainly, wondering if she'd been insulted. "Sounds great!" she enthused, then clamped her lips shut.

"My assistant Wanda will now assist you with paperwork to make your employment official and set up your payment details. She'll also be giving you your first assignments for tomorrow."

After their giddiness settled down Rachel and Cecilia spent another hour at the agency while Lana's assistant handed out various booklets and papers and went over some contract items. Rachel zoned out after about five minutes and simply signed where told, filling in blanks with whatever Wanda told her to, dreaming of modelling.
