Lab Results (Good)

"Okay! Take a seat, please. I have the results of your labs from last week... and everything looks to be in order. Kevin, your swimmers are strong. Rachel, well I'll spare you the talk but it's very very good! Everything looks to be working."

"Well shit doc, that's great!"

Kevin's face is washed with relief, his hidden worries the fumes or the stress of work were holding him back. Rachel, however, had a concerned look across her face.

"Doctor. If the results are good... well then where is our... results?"

Dr Dandy looks up, confused, holding the stapled papers up higher as he begins to correct her. When he sees her miming a bulge over her belly he blinks and corrects himself instead.

"Well, there's any of a million reasons. Medically you're both healthy and capable. You've been timing the intercourse, maximizing your chances..."

He begins to mutter to himself, his one flaw is that when the doctor thinks he mumbles like he's talking to the patient when really he's talking to himself. By this visit the couple had learned to let him think it through and not interrupt. Kevin lays a comforting hand on his wife's shoulder and she places her hand on his with a half hearted smile.

"I mean. At this point it's theory... maybe... no... well..."

As the Doctor turns back towards them he stands up and looks them over and they smile awkwardly.

"You see. There's several possibilities and with the data I currently have I can't say for certain what may or may not be happening."

"Well what data do you need?"

"At this point I've done everything short of observe the actions during intercourse. That kind of research hasn't been done in the United States in years however. Very frowned upon, almost cost a Doctor his medical license."

The couple look at each other, weighing carefully the doctors words.
