Chapter 4 by Cliffe Cliffe

What do you do? Where do you want to go?

LOOTING! Only a little bit...

(((A little warning, there are skeletons in this chapter so if you're queasy about that sorta thing be careful. Also remember to comment if you want to direct the way the next chapter goes. Commenting helps to put out more pages more quickly and prevents the player from missing something that could be useful, i.e a weapon for a fight, a companion, an artifact. I will Still try to post if there are no comments but it can take a while then and it becomes possible that nothing will happen in that page. So try to post something at the bottom of the page or the side.)))

It's a little embarassing how quickly you manage to trip over more vines again as you try to quickly get to the canteen, your hands reaching out to stop your fall. Pain shoots up your knees as drop to the ground with a soft grunt and immediately kick at the vine you had tripped on. Annoyed and possibly feeling a little stupid for falling over basically nothing, you crawl over to the canteen and brush aside the rest of the pile and pull out the small container to pop the top open. It's easily from a single that it's not water in the container, the weak stench of some kind of **** jumps out at you as you scoot away from the wreck, and the growing plume of smoke.

A nagging concerns warns of the dangers that could come from drinking **** while already thirsty and in a situation like this, but you brush it off without a second thought as you take a swig from the canteen and continue scanning the area. Your drinking lasts about half of a second though before you're thrown into a horrible coughing fit as your eyes are finally drawn to the canopy above. Your eyes widen as you reluctantly cap off the canteen and stare up at the trees as a large wooden shaft sticks out from the the main trunk, one end of it actually buried in the tree as along the shaft of the tree you find yourself shaking at sight of silvery bone stained with dirt and moss. A large humanoid skeleton hangs from the tree, unmoving as the wind shifts some of the vines that worked through the various gaps between each bone.

However, it isn't the sight of the actual body that stuns you the most, or the other ones pinned to the trees the exact same way, or even the glimpse of clothing similar to yours adorning one. It's what you see when you get a closer look to confirm whether or not you're hallucinating; it's the massive size of some of the skeletons, a good number of them easily seven to eight feet tall when they were alive; it's the tusks that jut out from the prominent lower jaws and the actual strange thickness of each bone that makes you worry. It's the fact that these bodies whatever they are...they don't seem human...

Figure out where you want to go...
