Kick the console

Jerry assertively nudged his console with his foot; hoping to jostle it just enough to restart the action. Instead, the image on the screen flickered and wavered. Jerry then had to jump away abruptly as the console emitted a wave of blue sparks.

"No fucking way," he screeched.

More and more sparks flew from the console, quickly transforming into pale blue flames. His cluttered floor served as fuel for the fire to rapidly spread. Discarded mail, dirty clothes, food wrappers (Yeah, he was a pig, so what?" were quickly engulfed by the ghostly blue glow. Jerry couldn't move, his eyes were transfixed by the fire and his feet had rooted themselves to the floor. The strangest part of the whole occurrence though, which Jerry only realized much later, was that the fire did not produce smoke or warmth. There was only light.

The fire hungrily fed upon all of Jerry's possessions. The console, The television. The couch. The structure itself. And then it came for Jerry. He could feel the flame crawling on his body like it was a living being. A snake made of slithering blue light. It crawled up his leg and up his quivering frame. Jerry wanted to run but he could no longer feel his feet.

The last thing Jerry did before everything went black was emit a soundless **** scream.
