Ken Izumo, the D-list Stretching Hero "Extend"

As a child, like so many children like him, Ken always wanted to be like the pro Heroes he looked up to. As a teenager, like so many teenagers like him, he enrolled in a specialized school that would teach him how to be a hero. His Quirk, Elastic Limbs, wasn't the flashiest power, but it was handy enough, and certainly enough to build a career on. An as a young adult, like precious few young adults like him, he made it to the professional level, as the Stretching Hero "Extend"!!!

....Only, it didn't turn out quite as illustrious as Ken had hoped. Turns out, public image mattered a lot in the modern heroics industry, and whatever that charm or spark was, Ken didn't quite have it. Instead of being a household name, a spirit of inspiration for the modern people, he was... a glorified beat cop. Sure, there were devious plots and public menaces out there to stop, and he always tried to stop them; but if it wasn't someone else there before he was, it was someone more known to the public showing up and hogging the spotlight. So most of the time, all Ken was left with was cleanup after big battles, using his Quirk to gather up debris and hold things in place for people to fix. Not the most exciting line of work, it turned out.

Ken sighed, suiting up in the station he shared with a few other D-listers, ready for another less-than-thrilling day of work. He wasn't quite sure why he just couldn't capture the public eye. He wasn't a bad looking guy, with short, tousled black hair, sturdy shoulders, maybe a little thickset but definitely fit. Sure his costume was kind of dull, basically just being a black singlet with matching gloves and boots, a domino mask, and some elbow and kneepads that could stretch along with his body. Of course, designing and replacing his outfit with a new one would take money...

Regardless, it was his duty to protect people and he swore to do it.... even if it was getting a little discouraging when no one seemed to need his protection. Well, as it so happened, that very day Ken got a call for....
