Keep the pair of fives and the ace

“And I’ll take two,” you say, as you deal out everyone’s replacement cards. You look at your new cards and are disappointed to see that they are no help at all. “A pair of fives,” you say, laying your hand down.

“I’ve got aces,” Lin declares, clapping her hands happily.

You both turn towards Claire who takes a peek at her last card. You see a big smile cross her face. “A flush,” she shouts, showing her five spades. “Your turn to get topless,” Claire says to you.

“It’s not a big deal,” you say, mostly for Lin’s benefit. She gives you a small smile as you pull your shirt up over your head and toss it in a pile next to you.
