Katie!

Near the center of the cafeteria, Jess spots a group of guys and some girls focused on something. As she nears, she makes out the object of their focus to be a brown-haired girl in a little black top- it's Katie! "Anyway yeah, that's how I saved a baby orangutan from the- Oh my gosh Jess! Jessica!" Katie interrupts her own story to call out to Jess; the previously shy and reserved looking girl was now the center of attention "Oh! Katie, hey, thanks again for-" Jess starts before she's interrupted "No, thank YOU" She says with a little giggle, her admirers a little confused "Hey, Jess and I are gonna get lunch, save us a seat, okay?" Katie says sweetly before taking Jess by the hand and leading her away

"Aah Jessica! Giving you that hoodie was, like, the best idea!" Katie says with giddy excitement "It's so easy to make friends when you show off a bit! And my boobs only popped out of my top once today!" she blushes a little "Okay, that actually *was* pretty embarrassing" she hesitates for a moment "Though I guess you would know a thing or two about that, sorry. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for... Freeing me from my comfort zone a bit, I really appreciate it" She says, giving Jess's hand a happy little squeeze "How have you been holding up?"

Jess thinks for a moment "Honestly... Pretty well! I mean, better than I could ask for, given how the day started" she says with a little laugh "Everyone has been really nice... Well, mostly everyone. I've honestly felt really welcome, and class hasn't been so bad" Jess actually tears up a bit, she had been holding so much anxiety in her heart for this day, ever since her dad said they'd be moving, but now that she was here and it was going well, it was such a burden off of her "Your hoodie has been a life saver, I promise I'll return it tomorrow when I... You know, have clothes" Jess says as she tugs at the hoodie a bit "Oh, don't worry about it, you can keep it!" Katie giggles "I don't think I'll have much need for baggy outerwear any time soon" she says with a wink, playfully swishing her little skirt with her free hand

"Oh, hey! I meant to say!" Katie perks up as she remembers "My new friends and I are going to go downtown to this cool little Karaoke bar after school, you should totally come!" She says excitedly "It's going to be a fun time, I think you'd like it!" Katie says. "Ah, I don't know... It's been a pretty big day" Jessica says thoughtfully "I'll think about it, for now, why don't we get some lunch? We're running low on time" She says as she puts her hands into her hoodie pockets, remembering she doesn't have anything with her "Hehe I'll spot you the money, Jessica, it's what friends are for!" Katie says sweetly as the two order their lunch and return to the busy table.

Katie introduces Jess to her new friends, which she quickly gets along with. The two girls exchange stories and conversation with their new friends over lunch. Jess enjoys herself, getting lost in the moment, she's hardly finished her lunch before the bell rings "Ah! Time to go!" Katie says "Take care, Jess! If you want to hang out after school, meet me at the south exit, 'kay?" She says with a smile before running off.
