Just like any other pub

Her stomach was in knots as she gave herself a quick look over, hoping everything was just perfect, and as satisfied as she was ever going to be, she pushed the door open and stepped inside.

The bar was packed, and most people were focused on the numerous TV screens dotted all around. She began to trail her way through the front room, heading towards the back bar where he informed her he would be. She ignored the watching eyes as she found her way through the crowds, knowing full well that some of the hands touching her were not accidental.

Stepping through the opening, she spotted him instantly. He was seated in amongst a circle of men. Even though it seemed crowded, it looked to her that he was the centre of everything, that even here it appeared that the men gathered to him, and that he was in command of all around him.

She paused as she looked towards him, seeing he had failed to notice her yet, as he seemed focused on the screen ahead of him. Her stomach tightened as she realised this was happening, that she was to be introduced to his friends now, that they would be judging her.

She stepped forward, her focus on him and him alone, she was hardly aware of those around him. As she got closer, she became aware of eyes on her from a couple of those around him, but still she concentrated on him.

Closer, and yet still he did not seem to notice her. Finally she found herself beside him, and she knew that everyone in his crowd but him was looking at her. It seemed he was not going to look her way as he continued to look up at the screen, so instead she took one more step, until she was directly between him and the screen, knowing now he had **** but to notice her.
