Just a typical high school day

As they walked into the building Cole felt like every eye was on him. Part of him wanted to hide from all the attention but D'Shawna next to him gave him a bit of confidence. He felt her squeeze his hand reassuringly. "I think every girl here is jealous I got here first." She whispered. Cole was about to tell her to stop teasing but she sounded so earnest. Cole felt his cheeks warm. "You have the most adorable blush" she continued.

Cole felt like one of those boys in those old cheesy teen romance movies his dad loved from the 80's. It wasn't till they got to his locker that he noticed one person in particular was staring. Nick Truant Nicki to his friends head cheerleader self proclaimed king of the school and D'Shawna's ex. The blonde stared a hole through Cole and he instantly felt a pit in his stomach. D'Shawna herself seemed oblivious as Cole hurriedly put his purse in the locker and grabbed the books he needed for his first 2 classes.

D'Shawna true to her word walked him all the way to Mrs. Shermans math class. When they got there she bent down and kissed Cole on top of his head and gave him a hug. Cole felt so lightheaded he took a deep whiff of her and smelt her natural clean scent. determined to remember that smell for ever he felt on top of the world. "See you at lunch beautiful?" She asked

"uh ya sure ummm I mean of course see u at lunch." Cole stumbled over his words and feeling unsure again. D'Shawna hurried off walking backwards as Cole slipped into class right before the bell rang.
