Just a quick "hello"

The store wasn't very big, and Yanaye was on shift right now. Sabiyya could find her, exchange a few words, and be on her way in no time.

Sabiyya walked briskly, eyes sweeping as she moved. Yanaye was not hard to find. Indeed, Sabiyya hadn't even made it halfway through the market when she spotted her friend loading a display in the produce section. Yanaye caught Sabiyya in her peripheral vision and smiled with a greeting as she approached.

"Hey, girl," Yanaye grinned and met Sabiyya in a brief hug. "Come to pick up something, or just miss me that much?"

"I came to pick up some tea and thought it'd be a mistake not to meet-up while I'm here."

"Tea?" Yanaye cocked her head. "Just tea? You catch a cold or something?"

"No, healthy as can be. I'm just that bored." Sabiyya added a discontent sigh for effect.

"Bored? Girl, what is tea gonna do for your boredom?"

"You know about tea culture, right?" Sabiyya continued after Yanaye's vague affirmation. "Well I was thinking about getting into that, and it's hard to do tea stuff without tea leaves."

"You really are bored," Yanaye shook her head incredulously. "So naturally you came to pretty, little me because your subconscious knows it's always a good time when I'm around." Yanaye did a subtle dance as evidence of what a riot she was.

Sabiyya smiled at the deliberate narcissism. "Yeah, scandalous Yanaye always knows how to please," she teased.

Yanaye swung her torso in a motion that would normally flaunt her chest, but the effect was diminished by the market uniform preserving her decency. She only made the motion for a second before remembering where she was and ceasing. She threw a guilty look over her should to see if she had been spotted and drew a hand to cover her mischievous grin.

"I've gotta get back to work," Yanaye said as she returned to stocking peaches. "I've already talked to you for too long, and they don't need an excuse to fire my ass. If that's all I'll talk to you later."
