The next morning, she goes to meet Dyna Montague

The sex show had been the tip of the iceberg for Palas as she embraced human culture and threw away her old ties with the demon lord. The rest of the festivities hadn't been quite so flashy, but they had involved drinking. A lot of drinking.

The former demon army spy awoke in the noon hours the next morning in her bed, nursing a hell of a hangover and feeling desperately in need of a shower. After undressing and taking a shower that was not worth describing, the details more woeful than sexy, she quickly toweled off and finally began to regain some of her dignity as a masterful demon illusionist. Still on a bit of a high from her exhibitionist outing, she dressed into a black mini-dress rather than her usual attire, banding it with a purple sash, and finishing with jewelry and black sandals. Even if she was no longer in the demon lord's employ, she couldn't risk showing off her special eye, so she tied her black headband / eyepatch around it to keep it concealed, keeping her usual hair-style, long and straight. With that, the slightly flashier Palas Dark-Eye's look was completed.

Yesterday had been all fun, but today, Palas had a mission: she needed to contact the leader of the knights, Dyna Montague. She could fill volumes with everything she knew from her years spying on the upper echolon and defenses of Merridan, but conversely, she could fill a good many pages with the activity of the demon lord's spies and implants as well. For now, she was interested in offering the latter, for the good of all of the people of Merridan... and, perhaps, for the promise of protection, should someone realize who was ratting out their fellow spies. Besides that, she wanted to offer the other demons a chance to embrace the same life she had... not necessarily as exhibitionists (though that was a possibility if they cared for it), but rather, simply meshing with human society rather than attempting to destroy it.

This was a matter of both pride and decency. Living under the demon lord's thumb had blinded her to all sorts of things: her own sexuality, chief among them. The others deserved a chance at redemption too, she figured. She realized that ironically, in making them do his bidding for the unpaid promise of human slaves, the dark master had made his very minions into slaves.

"So you're a demon spy? You'd think they could pick a more discrete plant than a silver-haired girl with an eyepatch named 'Dark-Eye,' couldn't they?"the knight captain, Dyna Montague, guffawed. Whatever response Palas expected to her big reveal that she was a spy for the demon lord and had the names and identities of dozens more embedded agents all over Merridan, she hadn't expected laughter.

Palas had pulled Dyna away from the barracks to a private meeting room where the two sat at a large, rarely-used stone war table. The carved wooden figures upon it looked as though they'd been arranged for somebody's amusement, all surrounding one little piece in the middle. Palas wouldn't be surprised to learn that this elegant set had belonged to the Defense Loaners, before Dyna's knight corp had moved in... from what she'd learned of the knight captain so far, it seemed like planning wasn't high on her list of priorities.

"I'll have you know, I was a very successful spy throughout my career, even with that conspicuous eye," Palas complained, failing to take the humor in stride. "I personally saw to the failure of many of your ambush parties."

"Hmmm... That sounds like a reason to kick your ass, not trust the hit list you've promised to give me," Dyna mused, propping her short, curvy legs up onto the table and kicking one pointed-toed boot with a teasing grin on her face. The stuck-up types like Palas had always been her favorite to tease. "And I think you mean the Loaners' ambush parties. If I wanna ambush somebody, nobody knows the plan before I get moving."

Palas clenched her teeth but held her rebuttal. "Trust me, this hit list is good news for you. I present to you a chance to root out the greatest threats to Merridan. All I need are two things: a promise I'll have the protection of the knights and that you will attempt to win over the demons without killing them," she suggested, crossing her pale arms beneath her chest with a lingering frown upon her face.

"That does sound pretty sweet. However, your demon buddies don't always play nice. If I have to take 'em out, are you gonna hold it against me?" Dyna questioned, still smiling in an aloof manner, but with a threat clear in her words.

"Of course not. Many of them have very deeply entrenched loyalties to the demon lord. They will not all be so easily converted," the white-haired lady sighed, observing a number of sneering, goblin-like demon figurines that were clumped on one side of the board. If only any of the targets she had in mind were as simple-minded as goblins...
