Jump down the hole to the females

You look over the options, but you feel the female path has to be the safest option. Especially now. You might also be able to find a way to backtrack to the portcullis through the cave route. Maybe walking through the room again would change you back. It's worth a shot.

Luckily you notice the trap someone left here. Beyond a certain point the floor becomes as smooth and slippery as ice. A closer look confirms that it's polished glass from wall to wall and the walls themselves are damp and slick. Those slightly sloping floors would carry you right down the hole to either the monsters or the vines.

Ever so carefully you lie down on the ground and edge your way forward across the glass. It's like you're balancing on the top of an ice coated snow drift. It might as well be a tightrope for your whole body. Still, you steer yourself and manage to kick off heading straight ahead. You slide down the center passage and cross the symbol for females.

You just barely catch hold of the opposite edge of the hole. You stare down into the blackness and drop your torch. Thankfully it hits something and bounces out of sight. You see a large mound of blackness in the center of the room below. Since it isn't a pit of spikes you reposition yourself and drop.

When you land you find that someone put thick mats of spongy black moss all over the floor of this chamber. You jump to your feet and try to look around, but there's no one around, just a circular room with a single doorway. Looking up you see the chamber narrow to a tiny opening about twenty feet up. Looking down you see your torch sitting on top of the moss. For some reason the dry moss doesn't seem to be burning.

You collect your torch, then turn and stare at the open doorway and the large open room beyond.
