Chapter 2
by PhoenixAuthor
So who are you? Where does your story begin?
Joel Ross, a 21 year old seeking his first Companion
I studied the map intently, absorbed. My concentration broke when a man burst into the room, gun held aloft. I whipped around, grabbing for a pistol that sat on the desk, but his bullets pierced my body and I flopped backwards, dead.
“Fuck!” I grunted.
“You’ll get it next time.” my dad chuckled. I glanced over at him. He had graying brown hair, cut short, and wore a grey T-shirt and jeans. He was a very casual guy. He still wore his wedding ring on his finger, despite Mom having been dead for nine years. His Companion, Angel, was snuggled up against his side, watching me play video games wide-eyed. She was a golden retriever purebred dog, and Dad had been thrilled to find her, eleven years ago. She was about seventeen in canine years, equating to thirty in human years.
She was stunning, with a mane of golden hair streaming down her back. I had no idea if Dad had ever banged her, but I knew that if she was MY Companion, she’d hardly ever not have my dick in her.
My friend TJ got his Companion last week, a corgi, and he railed that small little thing. She was small, not even four feet, but had bountiful breasts and amazingly wide hips. She was also a complete nympho, according to TJ. He’d named her Roxy.
“So. You excited to get your first companion?” Dad asked. I nodded. I was pretty damn excited, even if I wasn’t off the walls like a lot of people were at this important milestone. Mostly guys. I was something of a nerd, but not really. I was handsome enough, and not picked on or anything. I did sports and other stuff, but I really loved typically nerdy things.
Apparently, Lord of the Rings is a huge turn-off. Who knew?
“Yeah, I’m excited.” I grinned.
“Good. Now remember, don’t go there and pick the hottest dog you can get your hands on. I know what guys your age do with their Companions, trust me. You’re looking for a partner you connect with. Someone you think will be able to meet your needs. Look for more than their tits, is all I’m saying.” Dad said. I nodded in understanding.
“Yeah. I got it.” I said. He nodded back.
“Good. Now, Angel and I are headed out to grab some groceries. You need anything?” he asked. I shook my head.
“Nope. Hopefully when you get back you’ll be able to meet my new Companion.” I told Dad.
“Hope she is nice.” Angel smiled at me, a private smile that sent a message between us. Memories stirred, as did my cock, but I quickly tried to push them out of mind.
“I do, too.” I said softly.
———
When I pulled up at the closest K.A. branch, I parked my car and was greeted by an employee with a tablet.
“Do you have an adoption appointment?” he asked.
“Yup. Joel Ross.” I said. The employee tapped the tablet’s screen a few times.
“Gotcha. Alright, Mr. Ross. You’re checked in. I don’t think Ms. Stone is busy, so head on in.” he said, and I did with a small smile on my mouth that I quickly **** down.
These savages charge you more if they can tell you’re just dying for a Companion. I walked in there calmly, and sat down in a chair, pulling out my phone, pretending to be perfectly at ease.
“Mr. Ross?” a voice asked. I looked up to see a petite blond girl smiling at me.
“That’s me.” I said, and stood. We walked back into her little cubicle, and we sat opposite each other. There was a tablet sitting on the table, and Ms. Stone, my adoption agent for today, lifted it.
“Alright. Mr. Ross, what sort of things are absolutely non-negotiable in a Companion?” Ms. Stone asked me.
“Um... I’d like a female Companion with a bit of energy, though not overly excitable. I’d also like her to be loyal and friendly.” I said. Ms. Stone tapped several times on the tablet. After a moment she looked up at me.
“Size preference?” she asked.
“Nothing too far on either ****.” I answered. She nodded and returned her attention to the tablet.
“Ok. I’ve got three options. A beagle, a yellow Labrador, and a dachshund.” Ms. Stone concluded.
“Could I see the yellow lab?” I asked. She nodded.
“Come on, then.” she said, and led me down the hall towards the dogs. She sat me in an empty room, save for a low table and two stools to sit on. I sat on one, and Ms. Stone came in with a vision of beauty behind her. She was stunning, with adorable features that made my heartbeat quicken slightly. A mane of yellow hair streamed down her back all the way to her hips, practically. She was beyond buxom, that’s for sure. Her breasts far outclassed Roxy or Angel, and her hips were superior as well. She stood at just over four feet, about common for dogs.
Her cute little dog nose was working overtime, hurriedly sniffing me as she entered the room. Her tail was wagging excitedly which I took to be a good sign. Soft yellow fur covered her skin, and she wore a delicately buttoned up blouse and black leggings that hugged her curves gently. Perhaps the K.A. didn’t have anything that fit her, so they gave her skintight leggings.
“Mr. Ross, meet Bailey. She’s the equivalent of nineteen human years, and has been with the K.A these last few months after her previous owner died.” she said, and left me alone in the room with the potential Companion. She sat on the other stool, clearly giddy, but trying to be good.
“Hey, Bailey. My name’s Joel.” I said.
“Good to meet you, sir.” she said in a way that made me think she’d practiced it over and over again, eager to please. The thought made my heart ache at the adorableness of it.
“Nice to meet you, too. So... what kind of dog are you, personality-wise?” I asked.
“Bailey like to run and walk. But sometime Bailey just need sleep.” she answered after a moment of thinking.
“Hm. Sounds good to me. How much do you know how to do?” I asked.
“Bailey like to cook. Or bake. Bailey not like vacuuming, but can do it.” she said proudly. I found myself laughing and smiling. Bailey blushed lightly, and stood. I watched in a bit of confusion as she came over to sit down beside my feet, looking up at me with a big smile on her adorable face.
“Well? Mr. Ross, what are you thinking?” Ms. Stone asked, returning to the room.
“I think Bailey’s going to be a good fit for me.” I grinned. The dog girl looked thrilled and jumped up to her feet, beaming.
“I’m glad to hear it. I’ll take her to get everything checked and set up for you. In the meantime, here is some forms. Fill those out while you wait.” Ms. Stone instructed. I nodded, and took the packet from her. It was hefty, and I decided to start now.
———
A half hour passed before I finished the last document. I pulled out my phone to see I’d missed a text from Dad.
‘How are things?’ was the message, from forty two minutes ago.
“Master!” a voice cried, and I stood up to greet my new Companion, but I was unprepared for her euphoria. She jumped up, wrapping her legs around my waist and her arms around my neck to hug me fiercely. I squeezed her back, and she let out a small sound of appreciation. After a moment, she dropped down to the floor, a dopey grin on her face. Ms. Stone grabbed the paperwork and flipped through it quickly. She nodded at me.
“Follow me, if you please.” she said, then set off.
Bailey stuck close to my side, our legs and hands brushing every time I moved. Ms. Stone led us through the building to the lobby where I’d entered.
“Thank you very much for adopting with K.A. If you ever need anything, give me a call. Oh, and your receipt will have been emailed to your father, as he covered the cost.” she said, handing me her business card. I took it, and slipped it into my pocket as Bailey and I strode outside. Bailey’s cute little dog nose twitched at the new smells. I watched her in mixed amusement and fascination.
She blushed when she saw my eyes on her.
“Why watch Bailey?” she asked shyly.
“You just looked so adorable and innocent.” I answered truthfully.
“Thank you, sir.” she inclined her head respectfully. A burst of joy went through me.
“So... you need a new name. Any ideas?” I asked. Bailey shook her head.
“No. None.” Bailey answered.
“What’s your favorite season?” I asked her after a moment of consideration.
“Summer.” Bailey said immediately.
“Summer it is, then. It’s a good name, I think.” I said. Bailey nodded.
“Summer like new name. Thank you, sir.” she said, and nuzzled her head against your arm. Bailey, no, Summer smiled when I wrapped an arm around her shoulders as we headed back towards my car.
I felt comfortable with her already, which I took to be a good thing. Summer sniffed excitedly when she settled into my car, and touched my arm.
“Car smell good, sir.” she complimented me, but wouldn’t meet my eyes. I laughed, not thinking much of it.
“Thank, Sum.” I said, and ruffled her hair a little bit. She blushed and butted her head into my hand a bit hopefully. I stroked her mane of yellow hair again and she seemed to relax instantly. I hadn’t even realized she was a bit on edge.
“Were you anxious about something?” I asked.
“Car smell like other dog.” Summer reported warily. I laughed again. She was good at making me laugh, I realized.
“That’s my Dad’s Companion, Angel. I had to take her to her hair appointment a few days ago, because he was stuck at work. I think you’ll like her.” I explained.
“An-gel. Angel. She sound pretty.” Summer said wistfully.
“You’re pretty.” I said without thinking. But the beautiful smile Summer directed at me made me glad I’d blurted that out.
Summer gets to know the rest of the Ross family.
