Chapter 19 by Lawless Lawless

How does Izuku spend the period?

Jiro and Toru aren't doing much, so talking with them would be easier.

Well, out of everyone, Jiro and Hagakure are taking things the easiest. Can't have that in UA, so better go see if I can help as well as talk. Izuku nodded, jogging around the rest of the class to reach the outdoor gym area. No need to interrupt anyone after all!

"Hey, Jiro! Hagakure!" Izuku announced his approach, waving at the girls. Jiro waved back with a free hand while one of the floating weights shook wildly in greeting. "How's it going, you two?" He asked when he was a foot or two from them.

"Just some light training to start off with." Jiro easily replied, quirking an eyebrow. "Is something wrong with that?"

"No no, nothing like that." Izuku put his hands out to placate her. "I just figured I'd come talk, since everyone else is going hard into their training. Mostly about what you think of the merger with 1-B while Mr. Aizawa recovers."

"It's whatever, I guess." Jiro shrugged as her earlobes continued to lift. "They seem to be fine doing their own thing for now, and that blond idiot of theirs is just a tool. Ever since we stepped onto the field he's been muttering creepy things about our class." Jiro scowled as she brought up what could only be Monoma. "As a heads up, his quirk has something to do with 'touching' people. Probably best not to get within arms reach of him."

"Thanks for the heads up." Izuku nodded. "And what about you, Hagakure? Holding up okay?"

The floating set of clothes puffed their chest out a bit, the weights lifting rapidly for a moment more before they fell down, rolling onto bench.

"Whew, that's some good burn!" The supremely emotional voice of Hagakure cheered out, standing and stretching. "It's super tough, Mido, but I'm not slacking! I can run easily enough, but lifting is not my strong suit! So I gotta get all caught up in that, right?" The girl bounced from foot to foot, either unknowing or uncaring of the fact her breasts were bouncing freely.

"T-Toru!" Jiro choked out, flinging her hands up, her earlobes easily slipping around her arms. "Don't you look, Midoriya!"

"I'm... not?" Izuku was already looking away, finding the sky to be a really pretty color that day. He knew what was likely to get him a bad rep with the girls in the class, which was something he wanted to avoid. It would be hard to work with them in exercises if they thought he was, well, like Mineta. That would never have flown with His Girls at all. At least they were willing to let him in on the secrets to avoiding getting a bad rap on accident. "Anyway Toru, I'm willing to spot you if you wanna lift some heavier weights some time. And what do you think of the merger?"

"Well," though he couldn't see her, Izuku could easily imagine her grabbing her chin in a thinking pose. "Like Kyoko said, that blond guy is kinda creepy, and I don't know if anyone noticed but he had this really creepy look on his face for a while. But other than that, they all seem like super nice people!" Toru twirled around with a laugh. "I just think it'd be best to wait until tomorrow to try and mingle, since the tensions are so high."

"Yeah, I agree with you there." Izuku was reminded of seeing Togaru being blasted away by Bakugo. "Momo's over trying to talk to the majority of 1-B, and I'm thinking we can start actually getting to know them tomorrow. Today can just be getting used to each others presence, right?"

"Yeah!" The girl jumped up in the air, cheering as she did. "That sounds like a lotta fun, Mido!" She darted over, hugging the green haired boy. "So what's their class president like? Is she like the blond guy, or is she all nice and friendly and stuff?"

"Oh, Itsuka?" Izuku confirmed, not really minding the hug in the slightest. It was more Jiro's blushing glare that was making him nervous. "She's really nice, I'm sure you'll like her. Their vice president, Setsuna, is an admitted battle junkie like some of her class, but she's friendly too."

"Great!" The invisible girl bounced away from him. "I'm done with getting buff for the day! I'mma go spend some time on the parkour course, kay?"

"Okay, see you later then." Izuku waved as Toru jogged off.

"Later." Jiro gave a half-assed wave at the back of the invisible girl. However, her eyes never left Izuku's face as he focused on her. "So, was that all, or did you wanna say something else?"

"Well, I also came over to ask if either of you two wanted help with working out, but it looks like Hagakure knows what she has to work on. She could stand to focus on one thing a day, though." Izuku shook his head. "Cardio and muscle groups are not something that should be intensely worked out together in one day. I should know. Just because Recovery Girl can help doesn't mean we should rely on her constantly."

"You should know?" Jiro raised an eyebrow. "Do some intense training for the entrance exams?"

"Try for ten months before then." Izuku laughed sheepishly. "Would you believe I'd never worked out more than running from hero fight to hero fight?"

"You?" Jiro asked, quickly giving Izuku a glance up and down his body. "Uh, um..." She stumbled over her words a bit as Izuku idly held his arms straight out to his sides, feet spread slightly apart, making her blush. "No... I'm gonna have to say I wouldn't believe it. But I'm gonna guess you're gonna say you aren't fucking with me?"

"I'm not, honest." Izuku shook his head with a small smile. "As of now, it's been eleven months and one week since I started training. It was pure hell, there was a lot of blood, sweat and tears. Literally." Izuku held up his hands, showing a few thin scars. "I cut my hands up a few times while I was cleaning up an illegal dumping ground. Thankfully no need for tetanus shots though. So while I may not be anywhere close to a physical trainer, I do know a bit from experience." Izuku sighed wistfully at the trip down memory lane. He'd been doing that a lot since last night. Wonder why that is...

"Alright, cool." Jiro nodded. "So, Mr. hell training, mech busting McFinger breaker. What do you think I should work on?"

Seriously, that's the name she's going with? Izuku ignored the name though. It was easy, after years of dealing with Kasumi and the last year of dealing with a horde of women who loved to tease him. Not to mention All Might's motivation and heckling during training. "Well, mind if I ask a few questions about your quirk? That will really help me figure out."

"I guess." Jiro shrugged again, setting the weights held by her earlobes down as she leaned forward. Only for her eyes to widen in confusion. "Wait, where did you get that notebook?"

"Huh?" Midoriya looked up from the notebook that contained all the info he had on his classmates.

"There's no pockets on these uniforms!" Jiro yelled at him, pointing a figure in accusation at him. "Where the hell did you pull that notebook from?"

"I've always been told my hair is fluffy and full of secrets." Izuku smiled mysteriously, only confusing the punk girl even further. Tomoko, also known as Ragdoll, had once made the comment when she was cuddling up with him once, and found herself entranced by his hair for some unknown reason. It had, of course, spread through the harem as a little in-joke and teasing material as most things did.

"Ooooookay?"

"Nevermind that for now." Izuku finally flipped to the page with Jiro's sketch and information, sitting next to her and showing her the book. "Is any of my information here wrong? I'd like to make sure I'm not making any assumptions when it comes to training."

Jiro silently poured over the two pages dedicated to his observations on her quirk and her, blushing a little more than she already was when she saw the detailed sketch of her. "Wow, you are surprisingly good at drawing."

"Ha, yeah." Izuku smiled. "Put years into it. I've always loved doing breakdowns of quirks, heroes and villains. So, I kinda just got real good at quickly sketching as I kept running into hero fights over the years."

"That's actually cool, Midoriya." Jiro smiled, going over the information one more time after a last lingering glance at the sketch of her in the middle of rubbing her earlobe. Without conscious thought, her earlobe jack found its way into her hand and she began to rub it, a deeper tinge to her blush forming as a shudder passed through her. "My jacks can extend about seven feet, not eight, and that's pushing it. Not only are they harder to move, but they lose durability the more they're stretched."

"Really? That's good to know then. I think I've seen you use them as whips, right?" Izuku was already erasing information, writing the correct details in.

"Yeah, that's no problem." Jiro used her free ear jack as an example, quickly lengthening it and filling the air with a crack like thunder before retracting it. "But doing that too many times not only damages my ear drums, but it also hurt like a bitch right here on the tip." She pointed to the small red patch of skin and cartilage on the tip of the ear jack. "So I've been thinking about doing something like what Mr. Aizawa does with his scarf thing, except with my quirk if enemies get close and I can't use them like I normally do for some reason."

"But that runs into the problem with people being able to attack you through them, where as Mr. Aizawa can always get a new scarf, you can't regrow new ear jacks." Izuku continued the train of thought. "Are you good with any other weapons?"

"Well, I kinda kicked a bit of ass at the USJ with some kinda sword Yaomomo gave me, but I'm not sure if I want something like that." Jiro shrugged.

"Maybe you can try a whip? Ms. Midnight uses a whip, so I'm sure if you asked she'd be willing to train you. Having a secondary weapon that doesn't rely on tech is always a good option." Izuku supplied, making her nod. "Anyway, what do you think your biggest weakness is, physically?"

"Well..." Jiro huffed a bit, blowing a strand of hair at her face as she looked up, still touching an ear jack as her blush deepened before she forcibly pulled her hand away. "I'm a good runner, but beyond that my stamina is kinda in the crapper. My earlobes are kinda stronger than my arms in pulling things, and I can't bring myself to actually try any of that free running shit. Don't got the grace for it." She shrugged, but sounded a little down. "I'm mainly good at running to where I can get a clear shot to fire off my quirk, though I haven't had much practice in that either. At least I can stab through concrete and medium thick steel with my ear jacks, or I'd have no use up close and personal." Jiro shrugged. "Oh, and I can't take a hit either. Bruise like a banana."

"Yeah, that's a lot to work on." Izuku said, smiling at Jiro when he could feel her glaring at him. "But hey, that's why we're here, right? So we can work these things out. You're really smart to be able to figure out your own flaws without going 'Only perfection is good enough' on yourself. Takes a lot of guts." He flashed Jiro a thumbs up as she turned away. "Anyway, from what you told me, you would do best from range, and that makes sense. But we don't have the luxury of always working with what we do best at. So!"

With a snap, the notebook was shut and vanished into seemingly thin air, making Jiro blink in even further confusion. "You need to work on agility, speed and stamina. Learning how to take a hit is good, but not taking hits in the first place is better." Izuku told her. "And you should remember to talk to Ms. Kayama about learning how to use a whip, since you have a lot of familiarity from your quirk."

"Okay. Yeah, cool. That's an actual plan, which is a lot better than I had before." Jiro nodded, returning his smile. "Thanks, Prez."

"Anytime, Jiro. My offer to help train is on the table, if you want."

"Nah, not today." Jiro shook her head, standing up. "I think I'll just go run with Ochaco. I'll try to talk with Ms. Kayama before leaving today though."

"I hope it works out, Jiro." Izuku waved at the girl, seeing Momo returning the group of 1-A.

"Same here." Jiro nodded at him as she walked off, weights in earlobes to put them back on the rack where they belonged.

"I think that went well." Izuku said to himself as he went to meet his Vice President.
