Belle went into the break room of the accountancy firm, and saw a newspaper open to the society pages. A headline grabbed her attention: Grubers Plan Gala Fundraiser for Ballet. She picked up the paper. Paul Sloane Gruber III was a wealthy real estate tycoon who was only 32. He was stunningly good looking and was married to a gorgeous ex-model, the 28 year old Georgina nee Vandershoal. They were the city's power couple. For their 4th anniversary, Paul hand bought his wife a matching set of emerald necklace, earrings, and ring rumored to cost seven figures.

Belle had a client who she knew was friends with the Grubers. She hurried back to her office and made some calls. In no time, she had charmed her way into an invitation to the fundraiser. She would use the gala to case the house. Her fingers almost tingled at the chance to steal those jewels.

The night of the gala arrived. Belle rented a limo and bought a tight black, sequined dress, that was cut high on the side and showed a lot of cleavage. She hid a small camera in her purse. She fixed her hair and make-up tastefully. She showed up at the palatial estate. It was a huge mansion. She noticed it was three stories but spotted a few basement windows. They did not look like they were old and not particularly secured compared to the rest of the house.

A valet opened the limo door, and helped her out. She walked into the house and saw dozens of well-dressed people milling around, drinking and chatting. She checked the entrance way for a security panel, and saw one. She noted the type and model and headed in.
