Jessica vanishes!

Monica looked around the dark library as her sister continued her literary exploration, and realized that they were alone. “Jessie? Oh not you now! Jessie!?” But there was no response this time, only silence…

Jessica lifted herself painfully from what felt like a dirt floor. She had fallen somehow, and landed hard. She looked up, expecting to see a hole in the ceiling above her, but saw only the thick, dusty floor boards of the room above her. “Hello!?” she called, but there was no response. “Monica? Allison!?” but there was still no response. She was alone.

Looking around, Jessica found herself in a cellar of some sort. Most of the room was lost in darkness except for one wall which was lit by a narrow barred window near the ceiling, emitting a faint gray light. In the floor at the base of the wall was a hole, like a large stone well. Curious, and seeing no way out, Jessica crept towards the well. She leaned over it, and could feel hot, damp air rising from the well’s depths. As Jessica squinted, she could almost swear she saw something stirring in the darkness below.
