Jessica sends in her notice

Monday rolled around. Jessica wasn't as cheery to wake up as she was before. She did the usual morning routine and headed off to work.

At work, Jessica went straight for David's office. She knocked on the door and slowly opened it. He wasn't in his office, which is odd as he is usually the first one to show up on this floor. Jessica didn't want to wait and laid her notice paper on his desk and went back to her own office.

"Hey, Jessica," Jessica's coworker, Bambi, started, "I saw you go in David's office with a paper. You look grim. Is everything ok?" Bambi's face was sad and a little pouty looking.

"I'mma quit, I'm sorry," Jessica slowly said.

Bambi looked crushed by this. Bambi and Jessica hardly spoke, but Bambi always acted as if they were the best of friends. "No," she shook her head, "You can't! Why!?"

"Hm, well," Jessica shrugged, "I found a better place," she lied.

"Oh... well, thats odd..." Bambi turned away and slowly walked back to her desk. Jessica returned to her office and shut the door. From her office, she saw Bambi get on her desk phone and call someone, during the call, Bambi would look at Jessica and then look away. Jessica had an awful feeling each time she looked at her. Jessica decided to ignore it and go on with her day.
