It's Hard Being a Ravers

Logan turned around to a pair of deep brown eyes staring back at him, a gorgeous chocolate-skinned face framed by curly black hair.

“Delilah! What a delight!” he grinned at her.

The young woman smiled back at him. “Logan,” she nodded. “I see you’re striking again, and at poor Victoria, no less.”

“Just dancing, Del, care for one?” he offered, offering his arm.

Delilah squinted her eyes at him before taking it. “Alright, one dance.”

Logan had taken Delilah O’Dell on a date a couple of weeks earlier, and contrary to his hopes and beliefs, she didn’t put out at the end, they only made out and felt each other up a bit before she asked him to take her back home. It surprised the young man, but he didn’t dwell on it for too long, he had a new date two days later, and besides, Sharon Miller was always sneaking around under Heather’s nose to fuck him. He wrapped an arm around her slender waist covered by the red fabric of a long dress as her hands rested on his shoulders.

“You didn’t call me again,” Delilah said a few seconds after the song started.

“Well, I’d thought you didn’t enjoy our date, you asked me to take you home real early,” Logan justified himself, he was glad for his ability to come up with excuses on the spot. The truth was that he had two busy weeks with other pre-scheduled dates, studying, and hanging out with his friends. Sometimes it was hard being a Ravers, he thought.

“I wasn’t sure about your intentions, but then I found out that I don’t really care,” Delilah told him, running a finger over his chest as they danced. “Your cousin would be so pissed off if she found out about this.”

Logan chuckled, this was becoming a recurring theme, him being with girls that Heather would be pissed about. Delilah was a member of the Honeybears, Azure Rocks High’s dance team, and they had a fierce, historical rivalry with the cheerleading squad now captained by Heather, mainly because the Honeybears were mostly comprised of girls that didn’t make the squad.

“Oh, you don’t care, do you?” Logan said, twirling her around. “Perhaps I’m the one who’s not so sure now.”

Delilah laughed. “You? Yeah, right.” The young Ravers’ success with the opposite sex was well known amongst the students of their school.

Logan smirked, this would be fun. “I think we should sit down a little, where’s your table?” he asked, making a show of looking around.

“C’mon, now, Ravers, this isn’t funny,” Delilah said, frowning at him. However, Logan continued looking around and caused the dark-skinned girl to sigh. “Alright, here, I’ll show you.”

Grinning, Logan followed Delilah, watching her toned ass as she walked in front of him. Passing a few guests, they arrived at a table where another girl was sitting with a bored look on her brown eyes. She was familiar to him, Logan thought as his gaze scanned her shapely body underneath the black dress she was wearing. He always thought Lisa Rivera was seriously hot, but the olive-skinned Latina was dating his good friend Zack Bishop for the entirety of the time they ran in the same circles, and since he was adept of the saying ‘the girlfriend of my friend is a man’, Logan never said anything out-of-line to the black-haired beauty.

“Oh, hey, Lisa,” he greeted. “I didn’t remember you and Delilah were friends.”

Lisa smiled at him. “Hi, Logan. It’s been a while.”

“Yeah,” he nodded. “How have you been? It’s amazing how all of us are in the same year at school and we barely ever chat if we don’t have someone in common.” He hadn’t talked to Lisa ever since she and Zack broke up.

“Totally,” she giggled, although her face briefly darkened at the mention of her ex-boyfriend. “I’m fine, by the way.”

“Cool,” Logan said before his gaze briefly switched back-and-forth between the two friends. He wanted to make Delilah work for it a bit first, not that he was really angry with her, but he had his pride, and it demanded he stalled for a while before giving her what she wanted. “So, are you two having fun? This party rocks, Fletcher Wynwick knows how to throw a good one, I’ll tell you.”

Lisa’s father, Carlos Rivera, was a police detective at the Azure Rocks Police Department, and he was being touted as a possible replacement for the current captain once he retired, so maybe that was why the Wynwicks had invited him. Delilah, on her end, was the daughter of the town’s only banker.

“It would’ve been fun,” Delilah said with a soft glare. “If someone wasn’t so stubborn.”

Lisa jerked her head towards her friend. “I told you! I’m not sure yet.”

“What aren’t you sure about?” Logan inquired, curious about the matter.

Delilah rolled her eyes, she was talking about Logan, but Lisa thought it was about what they had been discussing before Delilah stood up to look for Logan. “Nothing, I was telling Miss Perfect there that she needed to find someone and get herself laid instead of grumbling about her ex the entire time.”

“Oh…,” Logan replied, turning to Lisa, he wasn’t expecting that.

Taylor left the room where she and Peter had just had sex in, wearing a black robe she found in the bathroom, after she heard the noise of the front door opening. What the 21-year-old brunette didn’t expect was to find her little brother’s best friend in the living room.

“Chloe?” she raised a confused eyebrow. “What are you doing here?”

The redhead’s eyes were wide in shock after the moan she heard, so she got startled again when Taylor made her appearance. “Taylor?”

The older girl frowned, making her way to Chloe. “What’s wrong? Where’s Zack, wasn’t he with you?”

“I…I don’t know,” Chloe stammered as the scare slowly subsided. “He asked me to hang out here in the other bedroom to not disturb you guys, then I went to the Lodge to warn my parents, but when I came back, he wasn’t here anymore.”

Hannah took him back to the party? Taylor wondered. It wasn’t possible, Hannah said she left Zack with Chloe because he seemed to have taken a deeper interest in the redhead who was his oldest and best friend. It doesn’t make any sense.

Suddenly, another loud moan coming from the other bedroom made the two girls jump. “What the fuck?” Taylor demanded, everything clicking in her mind.
