It's A Surprise

"It's a surprise," Ty teased. "It's nothing too exciting, so don't get your hopes up, but I think you might like it."

Emma waited out the ride in suspense, wondering what Tyrell had in mind. Soon the anticipation ended as they pulled up to a brick building next to the court house. With the car parked, the couple headed towards the building, Emma thinking that she knew what this was.

They passed a large garage door and went around the side of the building. Ty held open a side door there, and as Emma entered, her suspicions were proved correct.

Parked in front of her was a firetruck. Ty had taken her to the town's fire station. "You allowed to be in here?" She asked Tyrell.

A firefighter on the other side of the truck answered for her when he yelled, "Yo, Ty! You pass that test?"

"I think so," Ty answered the man, then to Emma he said, "I'm friends with most of these guys. It's a small town, and if they know you're trying to join 'em, they'll take care of you. As long as you're not an asshole."

"Besides, these guys would have let me in here even if I was stranger, as long as I brought you too." Ty added.

Emma laughed and looked around. She immediately noticed that real life firefighters were not like in the movies. There was not one shirtless man, rippled with muscles, just hanging out at the station. Most were middle aged men, one or two balding, and one overweight. The were all fully clothed, in what looked like dark blue uniforms, except one guy had the firefighter pants on. The man wasn't attractive, but those pants did something to try and convince her differently.

"I thought you might want to see the station, since you were after me for being a firefighter. What do you think?" Ty asked, hoping his setting for a date was acceptable.

Emma turned to him and whispered, "I'm lucky I got the hottest one."

Ty smiled wide and showed Emma around. He introduced her to the guys and they all made small talk. Then they broke out in to stories about things they had seen on the job. Most stories were lighthearted and funny, like rescuing a kitten for the third time in one day, or about having to pull a naked lady from a small house fire.

Then Emma and Ty wandered to the upstairs of the station. There were several cots for the guys to catch a nap in, if they needed to. Emma and Tyrell sat on one and talked a bit longer.

Emma was actually having a great time. She had never been inside a fire station, and despite the lack of eye candy, she was very glad that Ty took her somewhere that meant so much to himself. The personal touch to their date, and all the firefighter gear around, was enhancing the mood of their little date.

When there was a pause in the conversation, Emma snuck a quick kiss from Ty. They paused, inches from each other, then kissed again, fully.

For many minutes they passionately kissed, then Emma's hand felt Ty's leg. It was tempting to do more, here in a fire station, despite people being just one floor below.
