Chapter 3
by VyVu
Do I step forward and issue a challenge? Or wait for someone else to make the first move?
Issue The First Challenge
Eager to demonstrate my strength to the other fighters, I stand and point directly at Dagul. "I challenge you," I declare, my voice steady and clear. He rises, lifting his halberd, and turns to face me, a grim smile spreading across his face. He's a towering orc, well-built and imposing, making me seem small in comparison. My head barely reaches his broad chest.
I've not seen him fight before, but I've witnessed his kin in battle. Orcs are headstrong warriors, charging in without much thought or strategy. He can either accept my challenge and face me, unaware of the odds, or deny it, disqualifying himself for the rest of the day. Secretly, I hope he chooses the latter, eager to avoid a potentially brutal and messy fight.
The crowd falls silent, waiting for his response. The tension is palpable, and I can feel the weight of their gazes on us. This is a moment of truth for Dagul, and I'm ready for whatever he chooses.
What's His Choice?
