Chapter 3 by GenericEditor168 GenericEditor168

Where will you set up base? Because every overlord needs a castle.

Island of Deception

Ah, the old Island, once your home, then your prison, now once more your home. From here, you shall summon your armies and crush the forces of good... completely, this time, no mages making last-ditch gambits, sneaking through your fields of illusion and getting you with a forbidden spell.

The only question is how you will do it. A slow, sneaking corruption would be more effective, but not as much fun, than a sudden attack aimed at corrupting anyone with a chance of resisting you. The decision can wait, though. First, you need to gather your army.

You start towards the exit from the cave. It's a long walk, nearly a mile. Maybe they hoped you'd get lost in the dark even if you came back? They were hoping in vain, though, because you've got perfect night vision, and you know every inch of your castle.

Eventually, you reach the steps. There's a faint red glow around the door, and you push it open to emerge into your old throne room. The walls are hung with banners and tapestries, all reminders of battles won and lands conquered. The throne is rather unlike the traditional overlord throne, a comfortable wood and silk creation, though it's still red and black. You could never understand why the other overlords preferred iron, it's so uncomfortable.

You retake your old seat, and begin working a spell both to calm the populance, and to summon your demons to you. Omiro fron thos (arise ye demons of the night, and let those who should fear you slumber instead). That cast, you sit back and await the first arrivals.

Who's first, and how soon do they arrive?
