Investigate Those Puddles
Moving towards the light, you look at the puddles. They seem safe enough - the movement stopped when they split from that thing, and now they just look like regular albeit liquid latex. Strangely, all of them seem to have different colours; the blue and purple you've already seen are there, along with a myriad of others.
As you continue to approach the puddles you hear a SHLOOP by your right foot. Looks like you've managed to stick it in a particularly deep puddle of the stuff, as your foot is now completely submerged in shiny pink latex.
