Intruder

Your mind is racing to comprehend what just happened. Four hostiles, two of which are dead. You look at the living room and see the male bodies are face down with blood on the back of their head. Those were probably the lethal shots, meaning the woman and one other intruder had been tranquilised. The sedative should be enough to keep them down for at least an hour, but you still want to make haste. You skip down the stairs and roll the woman onto her back, checking for any sort of identification. "What's the location of the fourth hostile?" you ask Eva after you finish checking the body.

"The fourth hostile is the one who took me down. She had positioned herself in the garden, using the sprinklers to access my system. She has been tranquillised." Eva responds. You knew she was incapable of emotions, but you could have sworn you heard a tinge of shame in her voice.

You decide to go check on the body before you forget about it. Maybe chain them to a wall or bring them inside. You walk out of the back door and quickly find the body of the hacker who took out your beloved Eva. You're surprised to find the body of a young woman however. She had fallen backwards from a sitting position, her laptop still on her lap. You estimate the distance of the shot must have been at least 20 feet, but Eva doesn't miss. The dart hadn't penetrated the girl's shoulder very deeply however, and as you kneel down next to her to check her vitals she opens her eyes.

In what must have been caused by a sudden burst of adrenaline, the woman sits up and tries to run away. She had already gotten too much sedative in her system to really struggle however and you overpower her with ease. The woman screams and cries but you keep a tight grip on her. "Please! Don't kill me! I didn't work for them. They **** me! Plea-ea-ease!" she cries out. Her movements were quickly losing power however and it wasn't long before she went limp in your arms.

"Alright, calm down. I can't have you running away just yet. I won't hurt you. I'm one of the good guys" you tell her, trying to reassure her that you mean her no harm. The girl you were holding seemed to be around your age, with black hair and a dark skin tone. She wasn't wearing the tactical gear of the other intruders, but was well equipped for the cold, dark night they left her in. Her features were hard to make out under the black clothing, but she seemed pretty well-equipped all round.

She starts struggling again, using up more of the little energy the sedative had left her with. "Then let me go! I can take care of myself. They won't catch me again." she tells you, giving you insight into how she had gotten into this situation. You start putting the pieces together and realise this might be one of the missing women. One of the girls that had been ****.

You couldn't just let her go free and go back to her normal life. The mafia didn't work that way. You knew that from experience. So you had to find a way to get her inside. Get her safe and get her to trust you. In a moment of comedic genius you come up with an idea. "Have you had breakfast yet?"

Taken aback by your comment, the woman stops struggling. "It's like 3 in the morning. Of course I haven't had breakfast!" she responds, clearly very confused by your question. You simply let her go and get up, wiping the dust and dirt from the sweatpants you had thrown on earlier.

"Well then I'm afraid I can't let you go. I insist that you have breakfast here first." you say, trying to keep your facial expression friendly.

"And it's probably too dark for you to go anywhere. It's better to wait inside for the sunrise. It's a lot warmer there." you add before extending a hand.

There's a long pause before you feel an icy cold hand in yours. The woman sighs. "Just tell me what you are going to do to me already." she quips.

"Well first you are going to tell me how you hacked my home security." you add slyly.

"Ha! That was easy. I just..." she starts, but you interrupt her.

"Not now. Let's talk about it over a cup of tea, how does that sound?"

She giggles nervously. "Will you let me go after that?" she asks.

"Well, I'll probably also ask for a favour. But that's for later. First our breakfast." You let go of the woman and together you walk back into the house. "How terribly rude of me! May I know your name?" you ask.

She looks down at the ground, clearly not comfortable with the idea of sharing her real name with you right now. "You can call me Griffon." she says after a moment of silence. It's probably not her real name, but it's good enough for now.

When you enter the living room, you see the assassin lady sluggishly trying to pull herself up on the end of the coffee table. Her arm gives out and she falls back on the ground. She looks up at you with an expression of burning hatred on her face. "You will pay for this." she says, before hitting the ground with a thud.

The woman had seen an opportunity to attack you, but Eva was quicker. "Well, that does make it a lot easier to check out what's under all that armour." you say to yourself while walking up to the woman's body.

"Should I call on anyone to help you with this task, sir?" Eva says.

You think about your options for a moment before deciding who you want at your side for this.
