You open your eyes, but all you see is grey. After a few seconds, your eyes start stinging and you start coughing. You reach your arms out and feel the solid wall just out of view. After giving it a push, you hear a hissing noise as the door slides up and the smoke begins to clear.
You fall out of your pod, onto your knees as your vision becomes blurry. You feel your stomach wretch as you throw up on the floor.
It takes you a while before your head stops hurting and you feel well enough to stand up. You take a look around you for the first time and breath in the fresh air. You’ve landed in some sort of forest, untouched by any civilisation bar the pod that you arrived in.
You look back at your pod. It had mostly survived the re-entry. You could see scorch marks on the heat shield, and under the landing thrusters which stop you from making a 20 metre crater where it landed.
You reach inside the cabin and pull out the emergency survival kit. In it contained what you would need to survive a couple of nights including some rations, a water bottle, a pop up tent and some first-air supplies. You know from your orientation that in the event of an ejection, other care packages should be dropped in the surrounding areas including building materials, weapons and other useful tools and equipment for creating a colony. You just had to get out and find it.
What do you do now?
