Interrupt them

Thinking quickly, you step into the room.

“Hi! You must be my new suite-mate. I’m Connor.”

Sarah gets up, leaving Rodney on the bed. He is shooting darts at you with his eyes, but Sarah is all smiles.

“I’m Sarah,” she says, stepping over to you and ignoring your outstretched hand, giving you a hug instead. You feel her soft, warm body against yours and instantly know you are going to like having her right next door.

“Rodney just finished helping me move my things here,” she says, motioning toward the burly fellow, who still looks annoyed with you.

You speak up and say, “You know, it’s so easy to overlook things when you are busy moving. Maybe Rodney and I should head over and take another look through your old room, just to make sure you haven’t forgotten anything.”

Rodney looks at you with undisguised irritation, but Sarah’s face lights up. “Oh, that’s so thoughtful of you! I’ll just get to work unpacking. I’ll be waiting for you when you get back.”

She gives you and Rodney a kiss on the cheek and ushers you on your way.

Once you are in the hallway, Rodney spins on you and says, “What the fuck, Dude? Couldn’t you see I was getting ready to score with her? Why’d you have to butt in?”

You notice his muscles bulging ominously as he worked his hands into fists. You had better think quickly if you are going to get out of this unscathed.
