In the Village

Your captors guide you into the center of the village, as others begin to gather around your path to see you. Their astonishment is plain on their faces, as they chatter back and forth to one another in excitement. Up close, and with more of them to observe, you are able to make more assessments of the aliens. They are short...the tallest of them barely reaching 1 1/4 meters tall. Even more odd, is the fact that they all appear to be male...assuming their physiology is similar to yours. All they wear are loincloths, some more elaborately adorned than others. Their chests are bare, but they show no sign of being bothered by the cool air that causes you to shiver ever so often.

The spear holders direct you into the center of the village where the fire awaits. For a brief moment you fear they may be cannibals and about to eat you, but instead they push you toward a large throne like chair. Throne like for the aliens in any event. For you it fits a little snugly as you are guided to sit...the arms bumping up against your hips. The warriors move to flank your seat, as all of the others gather around the fire...seeming to wait expectantly. Eventually, all eyes turn as an alien emerges from one of the huts. This is the first one you've seen wearing a adornment on their head...you surmise this must be the chieftain of the village. He converses briefly with one of the warriors who brought you in, before moving to stand before you. He eyes you up and down appraisingly, giving you the distinct impression that you are being judged for some purpose. Finally he nods, and waves a couple of the other villagers forward.

They approach you, each bearing a plate of fruit. They offer the plates up to you, giving your choice of the fresh harvest. Your stomach rumbles once more, and your hand lifts almost without thinking to try and take one. You hesitate though...your scientific mind reminding you of the dangers of eating untested alien plants. You hold it before you, eyeing it hungrily as the entire village watches you almost expectantly.
