Impersonate Jack's friend

Amy knew she sounded like a friend of Jack's - Kelly, to be exact. They shared a similarly shrill voice. If Amy articulated a bit more, they were indistinguishable.

She knew that, of course. She had experience in impersonating the girl.

So, then, all she had to do was make the call. Of course, not from her own phone. She drove herself to one of the last remaining payphones in town to make the call.

"Hey!" Amy said, her experienced impression proving fruitful.

"Oh! Kelly? ...Where are you?"

"Uh... my phone died. I wanted to ask if you'd, uh... wanna go out tomorrow? That coffee shop down the road?"

"Sure. When are you getting home?" He asked.

Amy almost didn't know what to say. Following a brief pause, she improvised. "I'm at a friend's house right now, sleeping over, so... I'll meet you there, okay?"

Another pause.

"Okay. Stay safe. Love you."

"Love you too!"

Now, she had to convince Delilah to give her a chance.

Simple, Amy thought. She'd be honest.

"Hey." Amy said.

"What the hell do you want?"

"I wanna say sorry." Amy muttered.

"You manipulative bitch, I-"

"I just... I wanna meet up. In public, I mean. T-to say sorry." She said, smiling at her convincing stutter.

"Amy, I can't-..."

"Delilah, please. I've been out of love, I... I just... I need someone, okay? I need someone to-"

"To manipulate."

"Someone to cuddle."

Silence.

"Ten minutes. Where are we meeting up?"

"That, uh... coffee shop. The one we used to go to."

The seeds were planted.
