Ignore the feeling

Jake decided to ignore the feeling. If someone was in the room, he definitely would have seen or heard them by now. Jake continued his examination of the bed. The bed frame was made of the same dark wood as the table in the hallway. He moved closer to the headboard and noticed something strange. Right in the centre of the headboard was a patch of wood that was perceptibly lighter than the rest of the bed. Jake ran his fingers over it. The wood was slightly raised.
