Ignore the Girl, Talk with Dani

You remember what Griffin said yesterday about this girl being trouble. Though she looks like a total bombshell… nah. Don’t stick your dick in crazy was a rule to live by.

“Hey, did you catch the latest episode of Breaking Bread?” you ask.

Dani perks up. “I just caught up with the show! It’s crazy, isn’t it?”

“Yeah, I can’t believe he’s selling bagels now,” you say, shaking your head. “It was bad enough when he branched into the focaccia business…”

“Malter Might really just doesn’t know when to stop,” Dani says. “Like, every time he’s about to do something bad, I feel like screaming at my laptop, but it’s just so awful, and he does it, and you can’t really blame him, but…”

“But you know it’s his fault for letting the yeast rise for too long, even if the timer was reset by a rat,” you finish.

“Exactly,” she says. “His business is never going to take off at this rate.”

“And then how will he pay for the cancer treatment?”

The two of you commiserate over Breaking Bread for the next half an hour or so, and Elsie ups and leaves at that point. You stare at her swaying ass as she walks out the room somewhat remorsefully.

“Who was that?” Dani asks. There’s a hint of jealousy in her voice, even though she’s supposedly into Matt.

“Somebody that I thought I recognised from somewhere. I was just trying to figure out where I’d seen her before,” you say. “I’ve met so many people this last week that it’s hard to keep track.”

“Yeah… there were so many guys hitting on me that first week, I pretty much only remembered the names of the cute ones,” Dani says, blushing a little from the memories.

“Well, it’s good to know that you still remember mine then,” you say, and decide to rib her a little. “You sure Matt’s the only one for you?”

“Oh come on, that’s not fair,” she says. “I can have a crush on one guy and recognise that another’s cute, okayyy?”

“Whatever you say, boss,” you laugh, and the two of you get up to the counter to pay.
