The Sphinx has you in a terrible position, and he knows it. But these creatures are supposed to be bound by some moral code. Surely if you succeed again, then he'll have **** but to take you to the black forest and you'll be back on track in not time. With a soft sigh, you make your announcement.

"Very well, I accept your challenge, but only if you give your word that when I win, you'll carry me all the way this time."

A downright sinister smirk curls the corners of the beast-man's lips.

"That is, if you win, human. But indeed, I give my word. Though take heed, if you fail, you must answer for that arrogance."

Your cheeks flush lightly, it seems that you might have made him even angrier. This might be more difficult than you thought. There's no backing out now, but you've already solved one of the creature's riddles, one more couldn't be so bad, could it?

The sphinx is silent for just a few seconds, as if he hasn't had to remember another such puzzle in quite some time. Finally, that regal, haughty voice breaks the momentary silence.

"The bigger I get, the less there is. What am I?"

It's a simple enough riddle, in fact, you're almost certain that you've heard it before.

"You're a hole!"

A fierce cry tears free from the monstrous male, drool foaming at his lips as though in some sort of frenzy. Then, as suddenly as the fit began, it ends, and the sphinx glares down at you with sheer contempt, his fangs bared. You're almost one-hundred percent certain that you've answered correctly, but now you must put your faith in the monster's oath.
