Identify himself as Roderick’s squire

“I’m Sir Roderick’s squire,” says Alex, feeling a surge of pride at the words. “I am looking for him.”

Kelly smiles knowingly and says, “Ah, yes. I have been expecting you. Sir Roderick is upstairs with one of my girls, but he said you would be along and that I should take care of you.”

“Take care of me?” asks Alex.

“He said you could spend up to ten pieces of silver and to put it on his tab.” She motions toward the bar and says, “He probably thought you’d want to get something to eat and something to quench your thirst. Of course, you are also welcome to spend your money on our ‘other menu’ if you would prefer.” She gestures broadly around the room as she refers to the “other menu.”

Alex feels his stomach growl in hunger, and despite the several drinks of fire water, he is thirsty. Something to eat and drink sounds wonderful, but he is also intrigued by the “other menu.”
