IT, part 2
Anyway, Sagus and Marianne, being tired wanderers, earned my sympathy, so I let them stay in my former ho...me.
Rebecca: It's alright, you already told me about how you survived Arakarin's slaughter in Senhopen.
Sophie: Oh, that's right. Anyway, since I don't have to explain about that, I can keep going on the story that isn't depressing and horrible. Night fell, so Sagus and Marianne got into separate beds in separate rooms, and I assume fell asleep.
Rebecca: What a thrilling story.
Sophie: Shut up, I'm getting to the good part! While they slept, I set to work on his sword. To be honest, I kinda thought about hocking it. I'm no thief, but c'mon. In retrospect, I'm kinda glad I didn't. The 20 Zand wouldn't have filled my stomach more than twice. But then, while I was working, i heard a noise in Marianne's room. By the time i got there, there was the sound of a fight going on. Luckily, I had a few chemicals on me, so I figured I'd lend a hand and hit them up for an extra Zand or two. The door was already open, so i couldn't sneak up on them. Instead I just ran right in, and got a vial ready to toss. You should've seen it, Rebecca. Two guys dressed up like assassins right out of the story of a liar. Masks, scimitars, the works. And Sagus was fighting both while Marianne stayed under the covers. She looked worried, but not y'know? Like she had faith that Sagus would save her, but also hope that he'd be okay. And it looked like he would, until one quiet bastard dropped down from the ceiling just with a sword ready to dig into our boy's brain. Lucky for him, I'm pretty quick on the draw and I threw a chemical on the speeding sword that turned it into a semi-solid. Anyway, long story short, Sagus made sure the assassins wouldn't come back, and just...just the look on her face made it clear she loved him. After that, I couldn't possibly let them go on without me, so I joined up.
Rebecca: Okay, one thing is wrong with that story; it's a near-total lie. Sagus already told me about what happened, and Marianne backed it up.
SO what really happened?
