I WON'T HURT YOU

"Who are you and what did you do to us" the voice asks nervous, in a calm and low tone he explains..."I'm a survivor like you and your friends" looking at the others, I didn't do anything to you I won't hurt you or them....what's your name miss" putting her at ease, "Ru...Ruth": "My name is Robert, nice to meet you Ruth" going on, "I came in here, heard noises in the basement, investigated and heard her (motioning towards Ava), I busted the lock and pulled her out then she said there were others so I got you and them, covered you, and gave you some water" getting up as she backs away, "Rob's telling the truth...he saved us, we would have suffocated to **** if he hadn't found us" Ava says weakly as Ruth's concern turns to her friends, "are they going to be okay sir" and I reply "yes they just need sleep, water, and food...when was the last time you ate" hearing "three or four days ago I THINK" realizing her stomach is hurting. "It's a good thing I stopped at the grocery store then" heading upstairs before returning with a box of Ho Hos and a box of Twinkies, some Fruit Pies, a few Ding Dongs, and 7 bottles of water..."I'll admit it is not the healthiest stuff but it will kill your hunger pains, help me wake your friends they must be starving & thirsty Ruth" as the two of them rouse the others waking them; Ruth awakens Navia, Ruby number one, and Lexy while the stranger wakes up Mallory and the other Ruby, "sssshhh it's alright we've been rescued....BY HIM, HIS NAME IS ROB"...Ava tells them as he rouses her two blonde friends so they see her familiar face first. "You must be hungry and thirsty..huh" as they are given a 'Hostess Treat' gobbling it down..the water quenches their dry mouths soothing their parched throats, "he....HE SAVED US" questioning him like Ruth at first, "yes he broke the lock getting us out just in time too, we would have died... Robert saved our lives": "If you're still hungry I have cookies and crackers upstairs", he sits with them listening to how their parents 'sacrificed their lives' so the seven of them could live...."so how old are you" as they lie telling Rob "18...well the two of us will be 18, what is todays date" being told February...2037", "we will be 18 in 10 days sir"...our friends are 16 & 17" lying to him again (Rob knows by looking at them the two eldest girls might be 16 or 17, their friends are probably around 15 going on 16)!! He tells them HIS STORY, how he lost his wife and two daughters years earlier...the girls are a reminder of them, of what he no longer has in his life as they look at Rob with sadness in their eyes wishing they could help....somehow; The next morning the girls wake up to banging sounds as their 'Saviour' gets ready to leave, "See you girls take care of yourselves, maybe we'll meet again"...."you're leaving us here alone, what will become of us how will we survive on our own sir"???
