I'm going to the Lab!

"Just forget it, mom..." you say, dashing down the stairs. You quickly run through the front door, and head to the Lab.

It's pretty conveinient; it's near your house, and it's a pretty small town. There's really only four or five normal houses here; almost like a village. You dash into the Lab, and head to the back of the room, knocking down, a few of Oak's aids in your way.

"Professor Oak!" you shout. "I'm here!"

"Oak isn't here right now..." a voice comes from behind you.

You turn around and see one of the aid you knocked over getting to his feet. "Oh...uh...sorry about that..." you say.

"Never mind it..." he brushes himself off. "Anyway, he's gone to Viridian City for some important business. It's just north of here so it shouldn't be too hard to find. He left a few hours ago, when you didn't show up."

"Oh..." you say disappointed. "Thanks..."

You walk out of the Lab empty-handed. "God dammit..." you mumble.

You begin walking back to your house, but then suddenly realize something. "I'll just go and find him myself!"

You begin to head toward the exit of the village just north of you that leads to the next to city; after following a rather long trail that it. The long grass indicates the road.

"Here I come, Oak!" you say determinedly.

You begin walking down the trail, when a big rat and bird appear. "Hey little guys!" you say, bending down to them.

Suddenly, they lunge at you, biting and scratching you.

"Ow! God dammit!" you kick them off. "What the fuck is wrong with you?!"

"LOOK OUT!" a voice calls from behind. "Get out of the way, John!"

You jump back to see Professor Oak running toward you, holding a half-red and half-white ball in his hands. He throws it, and it opens up with a white flash. A red lizard appears, with a fire-lit tail.

"Charmander! Ember!" Oak shouts.

The lizard nods, and suddenly shoots flames out of it's mouth, and knocks out the two that attacked you.

"Hey, it's dangerous to journey out here!" Oak pulls you to your feet. "Wild Pokemon are no laughing matter!"

"I'm sorry..." you reply. "I just went to look for you...and..."

"Just forget it, and come with me..." Oak says. "Charmander, return!"

The lizard warps back into the ball. You follow Oak back to his Lab, and return to the back of the Lab where you were earlier.

Doe is standing there; your eternal rival. "S'up asshole?" he greets.

You ignore him. "Dick..." you mumble.

"Now, I want you both to pick one of these Pokemon," Oak says, pointing at a nearby table that has three of those balls sitting on it. He looks at you. "I want you to go first, John."

"But what about me, gramps?!" Doe shouts.

"Hold it Doe! You'll have your choice next!"
