Chapter 2
by otx
"What seekest thou in my humble Shoppe?"
How much is that crystal shaft?
Sarah looked at Anne and thought 'what is she, some kind of Victorian cosplayer?' Of course, she didn't really care that much as long as she could buy the item she'd seen in the window.
Sarah was perhaps forty, or a well-preserved forty-five, just beginning to carry the weight that comes with age. Her breasts had begun to sag in her late twenties, and were now held in place only by a masterwork of the intimate engineer's craft. Her hips carried the width that three children would bring, but were kept under control by appropriately-firm undergarments. She had enough money to be called well-heeled, and the investments would keep her such despite her husband's recent untimely passing.
Sarah smiled a smile that refused to exist past her lips. "I saw the crystal – shaft – in your shop window and was wondering how much you wanted for it?"
Ann returned the phony smile; "That item is not for sale, dearest woman."
"Then why did you display it? What kind of shop displays items that can't be bought?"
"The clever kind, madam. I cannot sell you the item, but I can allow you to have it for one night. After that, you will return here and we shall see if something more... purchasable... strikes your fancy. I can tell that you understand business: the crystal dildo is an enticement for future custom. Are you game to test it?"
