Homeward Bound

The man Cassandra was told has info on Jed Shaw is living in an apartment building on the other side of town. Cassandra runs and leaps across the town, quickly making her way to the address she was given. She enters the building and heads up the stairs, looking for the right apartment number.

Cassandra enters the apartment and looks for any signs of life, but anyone who was here is long gone. As she searches she find a cellphone under the mess. Looking through the phone she finds a text conversation between the man and someone who seems to care about him very much. The texts read:

Mac: Something's happening to me babe idk what to do

Misty: What's wrong?

Mac: I keep hearing this voice

Mac: it won't leave me alone

Misty: What r you talking about? What voice?

Mac: I can't even sleep.

Mac: it keeps telling me to find the girl

Misty: What girl?

Mac: idk

Misty: I'm gonna come by. I'll be there soon

Cassandra has chills run down her spine as she reads the texts, "The voice is using others to get to me..." She says to herself, "Why? And why this guy? It can't be a coincidence." Worried that man man might be headed to her house, she drops by the motel to grab her things before hurrying home.
