Chapter 2 by Ulap38 Ulap38

What happens next? Shenanigans at home? At their jobs? What ARE their jobs?

Home Sweet Home

Janice and Ronnie decide they had been away from home too long and choose to go straight home. As they pull up, Janice lets out a sigh of contentment.

"God it's good to be home. I mean the vacation was great, and we needed it, but I've missed this place," she explains wistfully.

"I hear you, Jan," Ronnie agrees, looking at their home fondly. He then sighs. "Well, you want unload now or later?"

Janice similarly sighs. "Well..we might as well get it done now. Save us a hassle later."

"Yeah, you're right. Alright, let's do this," Ronnie says with a bit of gusto, getting out of the car.

As Janice gets out too, a voice calls out to them. "Hey, Mr. Larson! Hey, Mrs. Larson!"

The couple turn to see a thin, bubbly red-haired teen girl jogging toward them.

"Hey, Mary!" Ronnie called back, greeting the daughter of their next door neighbors. "How's college been treating you?"

"Brutal," she laments. Judging by her no-sleeve shirt and shorts, she'd been running, but she didn't appear to be at-all winded. "So come on you guys, dish! How was the "vay-cay?"

Janice laughs. "It was great, Mar," she said, calling the younger woman by her nickname.

"Well that's nice and vague," Mary pouts.

"Are your folks in?" Ronnie asks. referring to Mitchel and Gianna Lyons.

"Mom's at the office, but I think Dad was messing around with something in the garage." She notes the luggage still in the car. "You want me to go get him? We can help you unload."

"That would be a big help, Mary-," Ronnie began to say.

"Oo! I'm going to surprise him," Janice said impishly. "Shh!" She proceeded move quickly and quietly toward the Lyons garage.

Ronnie chuckles. "She's such a kidder."

Innocent fun?
